The business of running a business is tough. If you want to succeed, you’ve got to learn how to stay motivated and level-headed says Saivian Eric Dalius. You need to remember that business isn’t just about money; it’s about people and relationships.

I’d like to share with you some of the business principles I’ve applied to my life. If you apply these business lessons, your business ideas will get off the ground and become a runaway success.

Follow your passion says Saivian Eric Dalius

In business, if you aren’t passionate about what you do, your business won’t succeed. In fact, it will fail. If you aren’t passionate about what business idea you pick, it’s likely that business will fail.

If your business idea is in line with your personal values and who you are as a person, then the business is more likely to succeed. Put simply, the business has got to be something that makes you happy; something that gets your blood pumping.

Focus on business and business only

As per Saivian Eric Dalius, your business idea doesn’t have to be your sole focus in life, but it should be a big part of it. You need to commit the majority of your time and attention to running the business. If you split your time between business and other things, then other things will get priority – and business will suffer.

Be business-minded, not business-focused

There are times when business isn’t the most important thing in your life. However, you’ve got to be business-minded at all times if you want a business idea to succeed. This means having business principles and a business mindset always guiding your actions throughout life – not just when it comes to business.

Don’t make the business a priority against other things in your life, but always keep business principles at the forefront of your mind.

Believe you can do it

In business, there’s an element of self-doubt that exists at all times. There will be times when you want to quit and give up on business ideas and business in general. You must believe in yourself and business ideas when times get tough.

There will be many people who think your business is a bad business idea, including family and friends. However, you can prove them wrong if you want to succeed – all it takes is hard work and self-belief.

Don’t take no for an answer

When a business fails, you’ve got two choices: to take it as a sign and give up on a business idea or to fight until the business idea is successful. This applies to business idea failure and business failure. There will be people who tell you that business isn’t for them; either they don’t like the sound of it or they feel the business is a mug’s game.

Ignore them and continue business ideas until business is a success. Everyone who tells your business isn’t for them doesn’t know the struggles of business, so don’t let their negativity stop you from being successful in business.

Remember that business isn’t just about money

In my early days of business idea, I thought business was all about money. I couldn’t understand why business wasn’t a success when the business idea had been followed properly.

Then, I realized business is actually about people and relationships. Without customers, business wouldn’t exist. In order to be successful, you will need customers – lots of them!

As soon as I began to apply business principles to a business idea, business began to pick up. I realized business isn’t just about profit and profit alone; business is also about people.

Don’t be afraid to take advice

When business was failing, I felt isolated and lonely because of the business failure. One person stuck with me through my doubts and helped steer the business towards success: my business mentor.

My business mentor wasn’t a business owner: he was an accountant. However, business mentors can come in many forms, and people who have successfully led businesses all offer advice for free so it’s always worth taking their advice after the business has failed.

Don’t give up on business idea

If you want to get the best out of business, you’ve got to give business 100% of your commitment. If a business is a part of your life, a business will flourish; if the business isn’t in your life, the business won’t succeed.

Remember that business has chances to fail and there will be people who tell you that business idea isn’t the best business idea out there, but business is business and business isn’t going to go away any time soon – as long as you know the business inside out.

You can be successful, but business takes hard work and self-belief. If a business fails, don’t give up on the business ideas, because the business will always be there for you if you want it enough.
